Admissions
The University of Texas at Tyler University Academy is an open enrollment free public charter school. The mission of the University Academy is to develop students who leave school STEM College and Career Ready. STEM College Ready indicates students are prepared to enroll in a STEM Major at a university.
The University Academy provides an innovative and rigorous K-12 education using Project Based Learning in conjunction with the latest and promising practices in education designed to foster 21st Century Skills and prepare students for university study and the STEM workforce.
The University Academy offers High School STEM Pathways in Engineering and Biomedical Sciences aligned with the University of Texas at Tyler undergraduate STEM programs. Students have the opportunity to complete up to 42 hours of dual credit at no cost.
The University Academy Elementary and Middle School programs provide an accelerated curriculum to prepare students to enroll in high school courses during Middle School. Elementary and Middle School age students explore STEM disciplines and high paying STEM careers tracks. We encourage you to meet with the Campus Director to learn more!

In order to apply for admission into the University Academy, please download and complete the form below. Return by email is preferred.
Admission is based on three criteria:
- The student must be in a grade being offered at the requested campus.
- The student may not have had any Chapter 37 criminal offenses during the previous three school years.

After you have completed the admissions application, you will be contacted by the school regarding next steps.
Acceptance
If accepted for admissions, an Enrollment Packet must be completed and submitted to the Campus Registrar with proper identification documents. This will be provided to you upon acceptance.
Required Documents:
- Birth Certificate
- Social Security Card
- Proof of Residency (must be lease agreement or utility bill – no cell phone bills)
- Immunization Records
Enrollment Day
New students will need to attend a scheduled Enrollment Day during the summer to submit their required documents and get further information about the first day of school at UTTUA. The school will contact you to set up an appointment.
